In November 2011, we are celebrating 300 years since the birth of MIKHAIL LOMONOSOV (1711-1765), Russia’s first modern scientist and founder of the Moscow State University (1755), “one of the most far-sighted, polymathic and colourful scientists who ever lived” (according to science historian Professor Robert Crease).
