Representatives of the Cambridge Russian-Speaking Society took part in the Act of Remembrance on Sunday, 9th November 2014, in London. They laid a wreath on behalf of CamRuSS at the Soviet War Memorial in the Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park next to the Imperial War Museum in London.
The ceremony was organised by the Society for Co-operation in Russian and Soviet Studies http://www.scrss.org.uk/ and Soviet Memorial Trust Fund among others and aimed to pay tribute to all Soviet and British people who gave their lives during the Second World War in their common fight against fascism. In the atmosphere of shared gratitude and remembrance representatives of voluntary groups, local government and diplomatic missions commemorated victims of military conflicts. Among others, there were members of the Russian Convoy Club, as well as embassies and military attaches of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Russian Federation, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
