CamRuSS is delighted to invite you all to our traditional Old New Year party.
WHEN: Sunday, 19th January 2014, starting at 4:30pm
WHERE: St.Paul’s Centre, Hills Rd, Cambridge CB2 1JP
(free parking on St. Paul’s Street)
Entrance: £2 CamRuSS members; £5 adults; children under 16 free.
PLEASE BRING: food, drinks and merry spirit to share! Also, any unwanted but worthy items for the raffle.
In order to book a venue and plan the party, we need to estimate the number of participants, so PLEASE REPLY A.S.A.P. to: info@camruss.com, indicating the number of children and adults attending, and advising us on your preferred contribution of help. Please choose one (or more) of the following options:
- assist on the door (for 30 mins or 1 hour);
- help to run activities for children (for 1-2 hours);
- come earlier and set up the room for the party;
- stay till the end and help to clean and tidy up;
- participate in the concert (e.g. sing, dance etc.);
- organise games and activities for adults;
- help with the disco.
Thank you very much in advance for your support. We need your cooperation to ensure the smooth running of the party and a happy ending! In fact, it is OUR party – and it is up to all of us to make it work.

IN THE PROGRAMME (timing is approximate, and may be subject to change):
- 16:30 – FREE Russian drinks and snacks at the entrance; music and entertainment
- 17:00 – Our very own and authentic DED MOROZ and SNEGUROCHKA (Russian Grandfather Frost and the Snowmaiden);
- 17:20 –”The “Snow Dance” («Ой, снег, снежок») performed by “Russian Beauties” («Русские красавицы»), Children’s Dance Ensemble from the Cambridge Russian School, directed by Yulia Simon-Neale;
- 17:30 – CamRuSS’ Talent Show; participants: Roman Mamatov, Irina Abnizova;
- 18:00 – FOOD and DRINK: everyone is kindly asked to bring their own tasty and filling food and drink to share (enough to satisfy yourself and the family and guests who accompany you);
- 18:30 – RAFFLE, with worthy and desirable prizes;
- 19:00 – Fun QUIZ, run in teams; gmaes and entertainment;
- 20:00 – Fiery and invigorating RUSSIAN DISCO, DJ Michael Demydchuk;
- 21:30 – Lots of fun TIDYING UP AND CLEANING TOGETHER!
CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES: Please note that there will be some separate ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN in the Lower Hall, with Russian ANIMATION (мультфильмы), and some DRAWING and CRAFTS. However, we are unable to provide continuous childcare, as there were not enough volunteers, so it will be the responsibility of the individual parents to look after their children at all times.
Children are invited to enter a NEW-YEAR FANCY-DRESS COMPETITION, if they wish.
