About the talk and the exhibition:
The exhibition “Birth of the Space Age” has recently opened at the Science Museum in London. It explores the history of the Soviet space programme, looks at the historical, cultural and spiritual context of Russian space travel, and includes the most significant collection of Russian spacecraft and artefacts that have ever been shown in the UK. This collection has never been exhibited even in Russia!
It was a challenging project, and it took a few years to make it happen. Doug Millard will take us through the challenges the organisers were facing during the preparation for this unique exhibition, will give the story behind the exhibition.
About the speaker:
CamRuSS is delighted that Doug Millard, a Senior Curator at the Science Museum who worked on this exhibition from its inception, has agreed to come and give a talk in Cambridge, and share some highlights of the story of its making.
This promises to be an inspiring and intriguing talk; Doug Millard gave a similar lecture the other week in London, and there has been a very positive and enthusiastic feedback from the audience.
Everyone is very welcome.
CamRuSS is planning to organise a group tour to this exhibition in London in December – so watch this SPACE!
