May Day Barbecue: Outdoor event

Monday 2 May, 2022, 12:30 - 18:00

A scene from the movie “Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears” (1980)

Come and join us for this traditional May Bank Holiday outing! Enjoy fresh air, good food and good company under the sun. Come along to relax, connect with local community members, and share conversation, food, and drink. We’d especially like to welcome newly arrived Ukrainian guests and their host families.

PLEASE BRING: Food for the barbecue (meat and vegetarian options), snacks and drinks to share.

You might also like to bring footballs, frisbees, badminton sets, skipping ropes, guitars, etc.

We’ll aim to meet in the BBQ area at around 11:30 and have a BBQ – with food and drinks to share – between 12:15 and 15:30.

WHEN: Monday 2 May, 11:30 – 17:00 (BST)
WHERE: Forest Area BBQ, Wandlebury Country Park on the Gog Magog Hills, Babraham, Cambridgeshire CB22 3AE

If you’re familiar with our usual meeting place, please note that the BBQ meeting point will be different this time. You’ll find us at the “Forest Area BBQ” – just opposite our usual spot across the grass field (see the figure 5 circled in red above the Games Field on the map).

You can find the Wandlebury Country Park visitor guide here. See also this plan of the BBQ area.

No cycling in the park is allowed, except for under-8s, and cycles should be secured in the parking area cycle stands.

DOGS need to be kept on a lead in the park but can be freely exercised in the adjacent Gog Magog Trust area.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the BBQ!
