Yuliy Kim belongs to the brilliant constellation of Russian “bards” of the “first generation” and takes his rightful place among the great names, such as Vysotsky, Okudzhava, Galich, Vizbor. In fact, he is one of the first and the “last of the Mohicans.” But Kim is much more than just a Russian “bard”. He is also known as an active member of the human rights movement in the USSR in the 1960s, which is reflected in his so-called “seditious” (or riotous) songs of the Soviet era.
