Title: Mid-May Outing and Barbecue “Mayovka”
Location: Picnic area at Wandlebury Country Park, Gog Magog Hills, Babraham Cambridge CB22 3AE
Description: Despite extreme weather conditions, most unusual for this time of the year, CamRuSS didn’t give in, and bravely held its traditional “mayovka”, a fresh-air festivity and a boisterous barbecue in Wandlebury Park.
It proved a delightful and tasty day out for the most adventurous and the hardiest of us, who were not put off by the near-Siberian cold, came along, lit up the fire, sizzled the sausages, and huddled closely together, in order to keep warm… The huddling worked – the participants claimed they got to know each other so much better, as they were so close in space!
