TOTALNY DIKTANT IN CAMBRIDGE with Shamil Idiatullin

Totalny Diktant is a world Russian language quiz in the form of a dictation. It is free, anonymous and open to all. It takes place simultaneously in many cities all over the world.
This event was first organised by Novosibirsk State University and this year it is running for the 15th time.
This year’s author of the literary text is a famous Russian writer Guzel Yashina. IN Cambridge this text is going to be dictated by Shamil Idiatullin – an acclaimed Russian writer and journalist!
Totalny Diktant in Cambridge is organised by Cambridge Russian Academy in collaboration with Cambridge Russian School and with support of the Cambridge Russian-Speaking Society.
This year non-native speakers of Russian will have an opportunity to write a version of TD called TruD, which is especially adapted for students of Russian as a foreign language.

Whether you do or do not take part in the Totalny Diktant, you are all very welcome to meet the well-known journalist, editor and award-winning writer Shamil Idiatullin!
Shamil Idiatullin was a political columnist for the Russian newspaper “Kommersant” for many years, and is the author of such books as a political thriller “Tatar Hit” (original title — “Rucciя”, 2004), “USSR” (2010), and “Ubyr”(2012). His recent novel “Brezhnev City” (2017) received the Big Book Prize. It is a story about a 13-year-old boy in Brezhnev’s Russia.
Shamil Idiatullin will talk to the audience, and there will also be an opportunity to buy and/or sign his books!
